School BeauceSchool invites you to an immersive experience with Claude Lafleur, corporate director and investor at Anges Québec, on February 11–12, 2025, as part of the Élite Program.

Claude Lafleur is a corporate director and an investor with Anges Québec. He is also President of Gestion Piroches-sur-Mer, a private consulting firm that manages several financing and consulting mandates for Canadian companies. Claude Lafleur also served as Chief Executive Officer of La Coop fédérée from 2005 to 2014. None of his predecessors served for as long or longer in this nearly century-old institution. Under his leadership, La Coop fédérée (Olymel, Flamingo, Sonic, BMR, Unimat, Coop, Norcan) became a world-class organization that saw its revenue nearly double. La Coop has become more competitive through strategic acquisitions, a major technological shift, and the implementation of various transformation programs. Including its affiliated cooperatives, the La Coop network has nearly 16,000 employees and combined revenue of $8.3 billion. Claude Lafleur embodies a culture of success. He is recognized for his unifying leadership, which has enabled him to initiate and complete major changes within his organization, its assets, and its workforce—changes necessitated by evolving production methods, the nature of local and international markets, and the competitive landscape. Claude Lafleur’s qualities and achievements have been recognized in recent years with several awards: Commander of the Order of Agricultural Merit (2015), awarded to an agronomist who has rendered outstanding service in the field of agriculture or to the agronomic cause, through ideas or actions, throughout his career; the 2014 Cérès Honoris Causa, awarded to the individual who has left a lasting mark on Quebec agriculture over the past decade, the 2014 Food Industry Leader Award from the Council of Agri-Food and Consumer Products Processors, for his exceptional contribution to the industry, and the 2014 Award for Entrepreneurial Excellence from the Quebec Association of Animal Nutrition and Cereal Industries, in recognition of his professional ethics and management skills.A highly sought-after bilingual speaker (French & English), Claude Lafleur is an outstanding communicator. Furthermore, his columns and articles in corporate and other publications have earned him numerous awards and the esteem of the journalistic community.Claude Lafleur’s social involvement is significant. In addition to his active involvement with Centraide of Greater Montreal, Claude Lafleur has chaired or co-chaired fundraising campaigns for the Montreal Women’s Centre, the Fondation Environmental Fondation , Équiterre, and the Théâtre du Nouveau-Monde. He is also a member of the fundraising committee for the University of Montreal (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine) and serves as an entrepreneur-mentor atSchool de Beauce. Before joining La Coop fédérée, Claude Lafleur was the executive director of the Union des producteurs agricoles. He has also worked at the Quebec Dairy Producers Federation and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. A course agricultural economist, he first studied at Laval University before pursuing his master’s degree in the United States (Michigan State University) and at HEC Montréal, where he completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA). In his spare time, he runs a small local farm in Pointe-au-Pic, in the Charlevoix region, with his wife, Ghyslaine Gagnon, an agronomist. Born on March 22, 1956, in Trois-Rivières, Claude Lafleur is the father of three sons.
